Featured again…and a surprise

posted by SusanClinkscales

Hello peeps!  Thanks to the new website Craftopolis I was quickly able to see that I am featured in two treasuries on Etsy this morning.  And what gorgeous treasuries they are!  I think they should both be on the front page of Etsy, don’t you? :)

And now for the surprise!!  My birthday is next Monday (March 16th) and I will be having a special sale this weekend in my Etsy shop to celebrate.   For the general public, the sale will begin Saturday morning (March 14th), but for my bloggy readers, I will give you first dibs.  For you, the sale starts Friday - yay!

I will post the special here on Thursday night, so be on the look-out.  Thanks and have a great week!

The simplicity of Spring

posted by SusanClinkscales

I keep making new pieces - that’s no problem.  The problem comes with the photographing and listing them.  I have more to do, but here’s a new one for today.

As you’ve probably noticed in the majority of my designs, simple clean lines appear over and over.  This necklace is so simple, yet it makes a statement.  Look at me - I don’t have to be gaudy to be gorgeous.  Available in my shop.  Thanks!

Shop Update is here!

posted by SusanClinkscales

I just listed two gorgeous pair of earrings in my shop.  They are a new design that I’ve been wanting to make for a while.  Yes, I know other jewelry artists have created very similar ones, but did they find gorgeous stones like these?  I don’t think so.

These are the first two pieces of my new Luxe Line.  I like offering different priced items for different budgets.  Click each picture to be taken to the listing.  Thanks!

Catching up

posted by SusanClinkscales

Greetings and salutations!

I’ve been wanting to post this picture on my blog, but it took me a while to get it mailed to the recipient.  And since she reads my blog (and received a matching necklace for Christmas) I couldn’t debut it until she had it in her hot little hands.  And now, I can show you the bracelet I made for my sister’s birthday.  I love the way it turned out.  I think I have a crush on these whiskey quartz beads.  They are some kind of wonderful!

Another cool thing that happened this week was my Last of the Winter Brown necklace appeared on Etsy’s front page thanks to Ozetta adding it to her beautiful treasury.  Here’s a shot of the treasury, I didn’t get a shot of it on the front page.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a shop update.  I have several sparkly gemstone beauties to add that would be just perfect for your Valentine’s sweetie.

The blue of a winter river

posted by SusanClinkscales

Hold on - I’ve crammed all kinds of things into this post!

I never posted any pictures from our vacation at the River’s Edge Cottages.  I took this from back deck overlooking the Mountain Fork River.  Isn’t the blue of the river gorgeous?

Here are a couple of shots from inside the cabin - it was luxurious!  I’ve decided I like luxury MUCH better than roughing it.  We never slept on the ground or anything, but the cabins of past vacations have left some things to be desired.  (Like furniture that was decent to sit on!)

I would recommend these cabins to anyone wanting to visit southeastern Oklahoma.  You can see one of the luscious leather sofas in the first picture.  I spent a LOT of time on that one.  Ahhhh.  And the owners really respect your privacy.  I had no cell phone reception (and loved that), so my boss had my assistant call the cabin owners to get a message to me.  The owner told her that I was on vacation and they weren’t going to bother me.  We happen to be checking out that day, so I called her back once we got out of the mountains and I got reception back.  But it was so nice to be completely buffered from the outside world.  We didn’t have a television in the cabin, either.  Not that J likes to watch it, but I probably would have been tempted to veg in front of it and not sit on the deck near as much.

Speaking of J, his mom’s birthday was this week.  Since she’s a January baby and loves red, I made her a bracelet from garnets.  She doesn’t really care for silver (and I didn’t have any gold wire) so I oxidized the sterling wire.  I thought it came out well.

And last, but not least, I’ve got some new earrings in my shop.  I’ve got more finished than just these, but these are the only ones photographed so far.  Though the pale chalcedony is lighter than the Mountain Fork River, it reminds me of it just the same.

Garnets for your January girl

posted by SusanClinkscales

I love garnets.  They are my sister’s birthstone (Happy Birthday, Po!) and I think the colors are gorgeous.  I’ve been buying entirely too many gemstones lately, so I have to make things with them and get them listed in my shop (so I can buy more!)  Below are today’s offerings.

Balls for everyone!

posted by SusanClinkscales

I love making these woven balls!  I’ve done them in turquoise, several different agates, pearls, amethyst, garnets, and fossil stone.  Here are two more I just listed in my shop.  Stay tuned in the coming week for more (if I can get home from work in time to get some decent pics.)  Thanks!

As you’ve probably guessed, my shop is out of vacation mode.  YAY!  It’s not sad anymore.  Our vacation was so wonderful, we had a great time.  I’ll be posting pics soon so you can see our luxury accommodations.  It was so wonderful!  I can’t tell you how happy we were to have comfortable furniture it sit on.  Some of our past experiences with vacation cabins in eastern Oklahoma have been, well let’s just say, less than luxurious.  Oh, and Felix was VERY happy to have us back.

Sneak peak just for you!

posted by SusanClinkscales

Here’s a sneak peak at one of the new items I’ll be listing in the next few days I just listed in my shop.  I love making these beaded dodecahedra!  They are held together with only the tension of the thread.  The picture makes the bead look larger than it is.  It’s really only about 1/2″ (12,7mm).  I’ve made them in several different precious and semi-precious gemstones.  This one is stabilized turquoise suspended from a leather cord.
