Happy Birthday!

posted by SusanClinkscales

Today is my significant other’s birthday - don’t tell anyone, but he’s 41.  He hated turning 40 last year and 41 isn’t sitting too well with him either.  I made him a decandent chocolate cake - it’s gorgeous!  Or at least it was until i got a hold of that tube of blue gel icing.  I wanted to personalize the cake.  Well…I DID.  It looks like my 6 year old nephew decorated it!  But I did it with love and that’s all that matters.  That and the fact that my preliminary tastes show that it is going to be fantastic.  I would show you a picture, but it’s for our eyes only.  I’m a chicken and too embarrassed.

I noticed some increased traffic in my shop today, did a bit of digging and found my Pink Ice Earrings in this fabulous treasury called Softer Shades of Pale.  Isn’t it gorgeous?! It will be up for 3 days, so if you get a chance, give it some click and comment love.

The curator is a seller that is new to me - ScenicYouth.  Her jewelry designs are right up my alley.  I love all of the flower elements she uses.  Check these babies out:

And one last note, or a question really.  Have YOU entered the Happily Handmade Giveaway 2009?  Well then get your butt to my website and click that big green badge and enter!  You know you wanna win one of those boxes of indie goodness!

Featured again…and a surprise

posted by SusanClinkscales

Hello peeps!  Thanks to the new website Craftopolis I was quickly able to see that I am featured in two treasuries on Etsy this morning.  And what gorgeous treasuries they are!  I think they should both be on the front page of Etsy, don’t you? :)

This plum-luscious beauty was curated by gulinoartware.  Check out this gorgeous piece from their shop:

And now for the surprise!!  My birthday is next Monday (March 16th) and I will be having a special sale this weekend in my Etsy shop to celebrate.   For the general public, the sale will begin Saturday morning (March 14th), but for my bloggy readers, I will give you first dibs.  For you, the sale starts Friday - yay!

I will post the special here on Thursday night, so be on the look-out.  Thanks and have a great week!

Catching up

posted by SusanClinkscales

Greetings and salutations!

I’ve been wanting to post this picture on my blog, but it took me a while to get it mailed to the recipient.  And since she reads my blog (and received a matching necklace for Christmas) I couldn’t debut it until she had it in her hot little hands.  And now, I can show you the bracelet I made for my sister’s birthday.  I love the way it turned out.  I think I have a crush on these whiskey quartz beads.  They are some kind of wonderful!

Another cool thing that happened this week was my Last of the Winter Brown necklace appeared on Etsy’s front page thanks to Ozetta adding it to her beautiful treasury.  Here’s a shot of the treasury, I didn’t get a shot of it on the front page.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a shop update.  I have several sparkly gemstone beauties to add that would be just perfect for your Valentine’s sweetie.

Pretty in Pink

posted by SusanClinkscales

While wasting time on Etsy yesterday, I found myself with a treasury.  I named it “I have nothing planned!” because I really didn’t.  I went through my favorites and picked out some gorgeous pink items, then did a search for my EBW team members to see what they had been creating in pink.  I think it turned out well.  If you’d like to see it in person, it’s live until Monday, September 22.  But…stay away from that painting by Lavatican - I want it!  (I can’t afford it, but it’s mine nonetheless.)

A surprise for me

posted by SusanClinkscales
I was in complete awe when, as I was scanning the titles in Etsy’s Treasury that I came upon a list with my name! There it is was - “Clinkscales“. Sarah of The Beaded Lily had created a treasury for me showcasing my new Art Deco earrings and showing off some of my favorite artists on Etsy. She added a few of her own to round out the selection. Have a look now, because it will disappear on Monday night.

Sarah started a blog not very long ago, but it has quickly become a blog to be reckoned with! I can tell she really puts her heart into everything she writes. And if you see her beading, like her beautiful Rose Distilled Necklace below, you can tell she puts her heart into that too. She also devotes a lot of her time moderating the Etsy BeadWeaver’s Street Team.

Shakespeare would approve

posted by SusanClinkscales

I found myself with a treasury last night, and considering that EBW is currently voting on their July Challenge, I knew what I would use to fill my treasury. And I honestly believe that Shakespeare *would* approve. (Or at least his sister would!) This treasury will be active until Monday morning (7/14) and you can vote on the challenge on the EBW blog for three more days. So hurry to both! Leave comments and clicks and vote for your favorite!

Happy 4th of July!

posted by SusanClinkscales

Happy 4th of July to all Americans out there! Many people spend their holiday at the lake, but we chose to have a garage sale this year. If you’ve never had a garage sale, it’s a LOT of work! We were lucky today, the high was only 91 degrees. J’s mom and sister also had stuff in our sale. I couldn’t have collected all of these lovelies by myself. :)

Also, I was able to grab a treasury Wednesday night/Thursday morning. I love the artwork on Etsy and include it just about every time I make a treasury. Of course, I also have to include some of the incredible beadwork from the EBW group. This treasury will be active until Saturday night around 7:20 pm (eastern). If you get a chance, stop by, leave me a comment and check out this amazing work.

Please me…

is the title of this treasury I created. Yes, I know it has sexual undertones - did that on purpose trying to peak people’s interests and get them in to look at these beauties:

You can see I chose fellow members of EBW (Etsy BeadWeavers Street Team) and others I pulled from my favorites.  This list is active until Monday morning, June 23rd. Check it out.
